Shiny Unite manufactures X-rings (also known as quad rings) with a four-lobed cross-section design that provides twice the sealing surface of a standard O-ring. X-rings are commonly used where reduced friction, better stability and improved sealing performance are required.
How X-Rings Differ from O-Rings
Unlike an O-ring with its single round cross-section, an X-ring has four sealing lobes. This design offers two sealing points per side, which can improve sealing reliability, reduce friction in dynamic applications, and help resist twisting or spiral failure during installation and movement.
